- 来国光は、来国俊の子で、来派の中でも最も作域が広く、年紀作は、鎌倉末期の正和二年（1313年）から、元徳・貞和を経て南北朝中期の観応二年（1351年）に及び、44振が国宝・重文・重美に指定されている山城伝の代表工である。この刀は、反り深く、腰反りつき、鋒延びごころの南北朝時代の太刀姿で、小杢目交じりの小板目肌がつみ、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく頻りに入り、沸映り立ち、冴えた美しい地鉄に、のたれて、小互の目かかり、小沸よくつき、湯走り掛りや足・葉がよく入るなど、刃中良く働き、来国光の特色が顕著に表れ、格調高く健全で、匂口明るく冴え傑出した出来である。Rai Kunimitsu is the son of Rai Kunitoshi, and has the widest range of works among the Rai school.
