- 来国長は、来国俊の門人で、鎌倉時代末期から南北朝時代にかけ活躍したが、後に京より摂津国中島に移住したことから、中島来と呼称されている。この刀は、元は長巻であったと思われ、小杢目交じりの小板目肌に、地沸微塵につき、地景細かく入る美しい地鉄に、足、葉頻りに入る中直刃を焼き、帽子も品よく返るなど、来派の特色がよく示され、品格があり出来がよい。Rai Kuninaga was a disciple of Rai Kunitoshi and was active from the end of the Kamakura period to Nanbokucho period.
Since they later migrated from Kyoto to Nakajima, Settsu Province, they are called Nakajima Rai.
This sword is thought to have originally been a Nagasaki, with mixed small-Mokume with small-Itamehada, Jinie entered finely, Chikei entered finely in beautiful Jigane, There are many Ashi and You, Chu-suguha-yaki, Boushi also returned in good condition, It clearly shows the characteristics of Rai school, and is dignified and well-made.
