庄内は現在の山形県鶴岡市、酒田市あたりの地名で鶴岡市は庄内藩酒井家の城下町として栄えた。金工は鷲田家、渡辺家、桂野家、鈴木家、初期には、正阿弥奈良も系統があり、江戸時代中期に土屋安親など多くの金工、鐔工が活躍したところである。Kawarigata Tettsuimeji Sukidashibori Zougan Uchikaeshimimi
Shonai is the name of the area around present-day Tsuruoka and Sakata cities in Yamagata Prefecture, and Tsuruoka flourished as the castle town of the Sakai clan of the Shonai domain.
Kinko(Metalwork） is represented by the Washida, Watanabe, Katsura, and Suzuki families, and in the early days, Shouami Nara was also involved. In the mid-Edo period, many Kinko(metalworkers) and tsuba makers, including Tsuchiya Yasuchika, were active here.
