- 源正雄は、美濃に生まれ、名を鈴木次郎といい、清麿が正行銘であったころからの古参の弟子で、清麿自刃の一年前嘉永六年に独立して江戸下谷御徒町に居住したと伝える。この刀は、小杢目がよく交じる小板目肌に、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく頻りに入る潤いのある冴えた美しい地鉄に、丁子刃に、蛙子調の丁子など交じり華やかに乱れ、足・葉よく入り、沸よくつき、金筋長く頻りに掛り、匂口明るく冴え、帽子も乱れ込んで尖って返るなど、覇気溢れ、師清麿に迫る出来となる最高傑作である。Minamoto Masao was born in Mino, his name was Suzuki Jiro, A veteran disciple of Kiyomaro since he was known as Masayuki Mei.
