- 兼杉は、室町後期天文頃に活躍した刀工。
この刀は、地沸微塵に厚くつき映り明るく立つ冴えた精良な地鉄に、互の目に、頭の丸い互の目・丁子刃・角張った刃など交じり、湯走り・飛び焼き掛り、華やかに乱れ、足・葉よく入り、小沸よくつき、金筋・砂流し頻りに掛るなど刃中の働き盛んで、匂口明るく冴える。兼房より時代は上がるが兼房風の刃を焼く優品である。Kanesugi was a swordsmith active during the late Muromachi period around the time of Tenbun.
