- 来国長は、来国俊の門人で、鎌倉時代末期から南北朝時代にかけ活躍したが、後に京より摂津国中島に移住したことから、中島来と呼称されている。作風は、来国光に近似している。この刀は、身幅広く3.1cmあり、鋒大きく延びる南北朝の豪壮な体配で、小杢目に、地沸微塵に厚くつき、精良で冴えた美しい地鉄に、小足・葉よく入る小乱れ交りの焼き幅広い直刃を焼き、匂口明るく冴え、頗る健全な来国光でも通る傑作である。Rai Kuninaga was a disciple of Rai Kunitoshi, and was active from the end of the Kamakura period to the period of the Northern and Southern Courts, but later moved from Kyoto to Nakashima in Settsu Province, so he was called Nakajima Rai.
The style resembles Rai Kunimitsu. This sword has wide Mihaba 3.1cm, Kissaki is a magnificent sword Nanbokucho style with large extension.
