- 近景は、長光門で、景光とほぼ時期を同じくし、景光の弟弟子と思われ、鎌倉末期嘉元頃から南北朝初期の康永頃にかけて作刀が見られる。太刀4口が重要文化財、太刀・刀4口が重要美術品に指定されている。作風は、景光に近似するが、沸の強いものが見られる。この刀は、銘も鮮明に残る『近景』在銘の太刀で、元は80cmを越える長さであったことが分かる。腰反りつき、鋒僅かに延びごころの鎌倉末期の姿で、つんだ板目肌に、杢目肌交じり、地沸微塵につき、乱れ映り鮮やかに立つ美しい地鉄に、小丁子・小互の目交じり、湯走り・飛び焼き掛り、逆掛かった足・葉頻りに入り、沸深く強くつき、金筋・砂流し頻りに掛るなど刃中の働き盛んな傑作である。Chikakage is the Nagamitsu gate, and is thought to be a younger disciple of Kagemitsu, who was around the same time as Kagemitsu.From the end of the Kamakura period around Kagen to the beginning of the Nanbokucho era around the Yasunaga era, swords can be seen.Four Tachi swords are designated as important cultural properties, and four Tachi swords are designated as Juyo-Bijutsuhin. The style resembles Kagemitsu's, but Nie's strong style can be seen.
This sword is a tachi with the inscription "Chikakage" clearly remaining, and we know that it was originally over 80cm long.
