- 大和尻懸派は、鎌倉後期正応（1288年）頃の則長を祖とし、手搔派と同じく東大寺に隷属していた刀工群で、室町初期にかけて繁栄している。この刀は、磨上ながら身幅広く3.1㎝あり、反り尋常、中鋒となる鎌倉末期の姿で、柾目肌に、板目・杢目肌交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、映りたち、地景入る美しい地鉄に、中直刃に、ほつれ・打ちのけかかり、小足・葉入り、沸よくつき、粗めの沸を交え、金筋かかるなど刃中の働き豊かで、匂口明るい。地刃ともに頗る健全で、出来がよく、重要レベルの名品である。棟には、誉傷が残り武勇を物語っている。The Yamato Shikkake school was founded by Norinaga around the Shouou period (1288) in the late Kamakura period, and was a group of swordsmiths who, like the Tegai school, were subordinate to Todaiji Temple and flourished during the early Muromachi period.
