Naotane, whose name was Shoji Minobe, was born in Ushu Yamagata in the 7th year of the An'ei era and became Suishinshi Masahide. Under the name of GoTaikei, he made swords in Nihonbashi, Edo. In the ninth year of Bunka, he became a retainer of the Akimoto family, the lord of the Tatebayashi domain, together with his teacher Masahide. In the 4th year of Ansei, he died at the age of 79. He puts into practice his master Masahide's theory of reviving ancient swords, and is skilled in all three styles of sword making: Bizen, Sagami, and Yamato.
Naotane has been popular since long ago and has been invited from all over the country to forge swords, but this sword was made in Tenpo 10, when he was 61 years old.
This sword has wide Mihaba and has a magnificent appearance with a long Kissaki, Mokumehada-nerete, Mixed Small-Mokumehada, Chikei entered frequently. a beautiful and clear Jigane with a swirling texture characteristic of his Sosyu-den, There are thick Ashi and You frequently Gunome-yaki, Nie entered deeply, The Nie shines beautifully, like silver sand. Kinsuji hangs long over and over, It works well in sword, This is a masterpiece that is reminiscent of the bright and clear Nioikuchi Masamune.
