Mokkougata Tetsutsuchimeji Sukidashi-Takabori Dotemimi

Nobuie was a tsuba maker active in the AzuchiMomoyama period. It is acclaimed to be on a par with Kaneie, and many masterpieces remain. As there are no dates for its production, its clear history is unknown, but there are many similar pieces to Owari tsuba works such as Kaneie, Owari Sukashi, Yamayoshi, and Houan, and it is thought to be related to them. The shape is often Mokkougata or round, and the Mokkougata shape in particular is so neat and powerful that it has the term "Nobuie Mokkou". The characteristic of Nobuie tsuba is the excellent forging of the iron, and the thick Kasane Itatsuba with Kebori.
Most of the inscriptions are just the two characters "Nobuie". There are two types: "Hanare mei" and "Futoji Mei(Bold inscription)".
