- 越中則重は、越中国婦負郡呉服の住で、江義弘の父と伝える。『古今銘尽』など江戸期の刀剣書は正宗十哲の一人として挙げているが、年紀に延慶・正和等が見られることなどから、新藤五国光門で、正宗の兄弟子にあたるようである。作風は正宗に類似するが、鍛肌に特色があり、大板目が肌立ち地景が太く頻りに入り、渦巻き状を見せるなど、いわゆる「松皮肌」と呼称される同工独特の肌合を呈する。この刀は、身幅広く、反り深い剛健なる姿を呈し、大板目肌に渦巻き状の肌が頻りに入り、地景よく入り、黒味を帯び、肌立つ、所謂松皮肌がつみ、浅くのたれて、小乱れ・小互の目交じり、湯走り・飛び焼き頻りに掛り、足・葉頻りに入り、華やかに乱れ、小沸深く付き、金筋幾砂流し掛るなど刃中よく働き、匂深く、匂沸が美しく絡み、正宗をも思わせる出来で、匂口明るく冴える傑作である。Ecchu Norishige lives in Ecchunokuni Nei-gun Gofuku and tells Gouno Yoshihiro's father.
