- 鎬造、庵棟、身幅広く、反りやや浅く、中鋒。鍛は、小板目肌に、小杢目肌交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく頻りに入り、鉄青く冴える。刃紋は、中直刃調に、食い違い・二十刃掛り、小沸深くよくつき、小足・葉頻よく入り、匂深く、匂口明るく冴える。帽子は、のたれ込んで、先掃きかけて返る。茎は、生ぶ、先入山形、鑢目筋交、目釘孔一。ハバキは、金着一重。
長曽祢虎徹は、江州彦根の長曽祢に生まれ、越前福井で甲冑師となり、承応頃（1652年）、五十歳の時に江戸に移り刀鍛冶に転じた。通称を三之丞と称し、入道して「こてつ入道」といい、初めは「古鉄」の字を用い、後に「虎徹」（はねとら銘）の文字を、さらに寛文四年からは「乕徹」（はことら銘）を使用している。年紀作は明暦二年から、延宝五年に渡り、延宝六年七十余歳で上野池之端に没する。当時その斬新な作風は一世を風靡し、新刀随一の巨匠として技量は高く評価されている。この刀は、奥里銘となる万治三年頃の作で、身幅広く3.3cmもある豪壮な姿で、地沸微塵に厚く付き、地景細かく入る冴え渡る精良な地鉄に、中直刃調に、足・葉よく入り、食い違い・二十刃掛り、小沸つき、匂深く、匂口明るく冴える渡る傑作である。Shinogidukuri, Iorimune, Wide Mihaba, Slightly shallow Sori, Chu-Kissaki.

Nagasone Kotetsu was born in Nagasone Kotetsu in Hikone, Echizen, and became an armorer in Echizen Fukui. He commonly known as Sannosuke, and when he entered the road, he called it "Kotetsu Irido". At first, he used the character "Kotetsu", and later the character "Toru" (Hanetora inscription), and from the 4th year of Kanbun. "Tetsu" is used. His chronological work spans the 5th year of Enpo from the 2nd year of the Meireki era, and died in Ikenohata Ueno at the age of 70 years in the 6th year of Enpo. At that time, his novel style was predominant in the world, and his skill as the best master of new swords is highly evaluated. This sword, bearing the Okisato inscription, was made around the year Manji 3. It has a majestic appearance, measuring 3.3cm Mihaba wide. Jinie entered fine and thick, Chikei entered fine and clear good Jigane, Chu-Suguha-style, There are Ashi and You frequently, Kuichigai, Nijuba-kakari, Small-Nie entered, Deep Nioi, Nioikuchi is bright and clear. It is a masterpiece.
