- 七郎右衛門尉祐定は、名を横山七郎右衛門といい、二代河内守祐定の子で、池田家の藩工として活躍した。宝暦十年に没している。本刀は、三代藩主池田継政の時代に作られ池田家の蔵刀として伝来したもので、275年以上の月日が経ちながら、生ぶ刃が残り、茎も錆があまりつかず、研いだ形跡が見られない作刀時の姿を留めた驚きの保存状態である。身幅広く3.3cmあり、反り深く、腰反りつき、鋒延びる堂々とした姿で、板目肌に、杢目肌交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく入る美しい地鉄に、華やかな福岡一文字風の変化に富む丁子乱れを焼く最高傑作である。ShichirouUemonnojo Sukesada, whose real name was Yokoyama ShichirouUemon, was the son of the second Kawachinokami Sukesada and was active as a craftsman for the Ikeda clan. He died in the 10th year of the Houreki era.
This sword was made during the time of the third feudal lord, Ikeda Tsugumasa, and has been handed down as the sword (Zoutou) of the Ikeda family.
Even though more than 275 years have passed, the Ubu-ha and Nakago are still intact, and there his little rust on them, with no signs of sharpening, making them in amazing condition as they were when they were made.
Wide Mihaba 3.3cm, Deep Sori, Koshizori-tsuki, Kissaki has a dignified appearance. Itamehada, Mixed Mokumehada, Jinie entered fine and thick, Chikei entered finely in Beautiful Jigane, Gorgeouse Fukuoka Ichimonji-style Chouji-Midare that has very varied, A masterpiece.
