Nagamichi Miyoshi's grandfather, Nagakuni, lived in Matsuyama, Iyo, and was taken care of by Yoshiaki Kato, but when the Kato family was transferred from Iyo to Aizu, Oshu in 1967, he moved with his family. Michinaga was born in Aizu in the year 1987.His early name was Michinaga, he received the Mutsu Daijo in the second year of Manji, changed his name to Nagamichi, and died in the second year of Jokyo at the age of fifty-three.
His appearance and style are so similar to that of his contemporary Kotetsu that he is also called ``Aizu Kotetsu,'' and some of Nagamichi's best works are on par with Kotetsu's early works. . It is also known as the beloved sword given to Isamu Kondo of the Shinsengumi by Katamori Matsudaira, the lord of the Aizu domain, for his achievements in the Ikedaya Incident.
