- 三原は、鎌倉末期から室町期にかけて備後国三原の地に栄えた一派で、鎌倉末期正和頃の正家を祖とすると伝え、代表工には正家・正広を始め、正光・政清・正信・政広らがいる。備後国には大和の諸大寺の荘園があったため、作風は大和物の影響が伺われる。正信は、南北朝後期から室町初期に活躍している。この刀は、板目肌に、杢目交じり、地景入り、映りたつ地鉄に、中直刃に、ほつれ掛り、小足よく入り、小沸よくつき、金筋・砂流し掛るなど刃中よく働き、締りごころの刃が明るく冴え出来が優れている。Mihara is a sect that prospered in the land of Bingonokuni Mihara from the end of the Kamakura period to the Muromachi period.
