鎬造、庵棟、身幅広く、反り深く腰反りつき、中鋒やや延びる。Shinogidukuri, Iorimune, Wide Mihaba, Deep Sori Koshizori-tsuki, Chu-Kissaki slightly extended.

鍛Kitae

板目肌に、杢目交じり、刃寄り棟寄り柾がかり、地沸微塵につき、鉄冴える。Itamehada, Mixed Mokume, Hayori-Muneyori-Masagakari, Jinie entered finely, Iron is clear.

初代信国は了戒の孫で、貞宗の門に学ぶと伝え、延文から貞治の年紀作が現存する信国派の祖で、長谷部派と共に南北朝時代を代表する山城鍛治である。信国派は、室町初期にかけて大いに繁栄した。この刀は、反り深く、鋒延びごころの南北朝時代の姿で、杢目交じりの板目肌に、刃寄り棟寄り柾がかる地鉄に、華やかな互の目を焼き、湯走り・飛び焼きかかり、金筋砂流し細かくかかり、匂深く、匂口明るく冴え、出来がよく覇気溢れる名品である。本刀は、戦国大名姉小路秀綱が天正十三年に居城松倉城に於いて、信国の太刀を擦上げたことが銘文にある。秀綱は同年に秀吉方に滅ぼされてしまうが、白山権現の信仰と二筒（二胴）の切れ味を示し、信国を磨上げて敵に立ち向かう心構えが感じられる。姉小路氏は、飛騨の国司を務めた名家で、秀綱の祖父三木良頼がその名跡を乗っ取り、子の頼綱の代で飛騨国を平定したが、それも秀綱の代で夢と消えてしまった。The first generation Nobukuni is the grandson of Ryokai, who is said to have studied under Sadamune, and is the founder of the Noboku school, whose works from the years of Enbun to Sadaharu exist, and Yamashiro Kaji, who represents the Nanbokucho era along with the Hasebe school. This sword has deep Sori, In the appearance of the Nanbokucho period, Kissaki-nobigokoro, Itamehada Mixed Mokume, Hayori-Muneyori-Masagakaru Jigane, Gorgeouse Gunome-yaki, Yubashiri, Tobiyaki-kakari, Kinsuji and Sunagashi entered finely, Deep Nioi, Nioikuchi is bright and clear, It is a masterpiece that is well-made and full of ambition.
The inscription on this sword states that the Sengoku feudal lord Hidetsuna Anekouji suriaged Nobukuni's Tachi at his residence, Matsukura Castle, in the 13th year of Tensho. Although Hidetsuna was destroyed by Hideyoshi's side in the same year, he showed the faith of Hakusan Gongen and the sharpness of his two-dou (two-double sword), and we can feel his readiness to improve his Nobukuni skills and confront the enemy.The Anekoji clan was a famous family that served as the provincial governor of Hida, and Hidetsuna's grandfather, Yoshiyori Miki, took over the name and subjugated Hida Province under his son Yoritsuna, but that dream disappeared under Hidetsuna.
