The Dotanuki faction is said to be the end of Higonokuni Enju, and its ancestor Kouzunosuke Masakuni was initially named Kunikatsu.From around the 16th year of Tensho, he became a servant of Kiyomasa Kato, and later received the character [MASA] from Kiyomasa and renamed it Masakuni.After the Kato clan was reformed, the Hosokawa clan, who newly entered the castle, temporarily declined due to the heavy use of Bungo smithing, but then prospered until the Shinshintou period and gained popularity due to its sharpness.
This sword has a length of 3 Shaku 5bu after Suriage (being polished) to about 8cm. Wide Mihaba, Deep Sori, Chu-Kissaki-tsumarigokoro a majestic appearance, Tsunda-Itame-hada, Mixed Mokume-hada, Clear Jigane, Suguha-style, Small-Gunome and mixed Kuichigai-ba. Yubashiri, Tobiyaki, Nijuba-kakari, There are many Ashi and You, Nie entered well, It is very active Kinsuji-kakaru, It is a masterpiece of Masakuni, full of ambition, Nioikuchi is bright and clear.
It is said that this sword was Kiyomasa Kato's sword, and it contains Honami Koson's scabbard, and although it is illegible, it seems that there was a gold powder inscription of Koson on the stem.
