- 来国光は、来国俊の子で、来派の中でも最も作域が広く、年紀作は、鎌倉末期の正和二年（1313年）から、元徳・貞和を経て南北朝中期の観応二年（1351年）に及び、44振が国宝・重文・重美に指定されている山城伝の代表工である。この刀は、反り深く、腰反りつく堂々とした太刀姿で、小杢目交じりの小板目肌がつみ、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく頻りに入り、冴えた美しい地鉄に、のたれて、小互の目かかり、小足・葉が頻りに入り、小沸深くよくつき、金筋・砂流し頻りに掛るなど、刃中良く働き、来国光の特色が顕著に表れ、格調高く頗る健全で、匂口明るく冴える傑作である。Rai Kunimitsu is the son of Rai Kunishi, and has the widest range of works among the Rai sect.His works range from 1313 at the end of the Kamakura period, through Motonoku and Sadakazu, to Kan'o 2 in the middle of the Nanbokucho period. 1351) and is a representative craftsman of Yamashiroden, with 44 swings designated as national treasures, important cultural properties, and important works of art.
