- 鎬造、庵棟、身幅広く、重ね厚く、反り尋常、中鋒延びる。Shinogidukuri, Iorimune, Wide Mihaba, Thick Kasane, Standard Sori, Chu-Kissaki extended.
- 鍛Kitae
- 小板目肌つみ、小杢目交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく入り、鉄明るく冴える。Small-Itamehada-tsumi, Mixed small-Mokume, Jinie entered fine and thick, Chikei entered finely, Iron is bright and clear.
- 刃文Hamon
- 互の目に、丁子刃交じり、足よく入り、小沸よくつき、荒目の沸を交え、匂口締まりごころに明るい。Gunome, Mixed Chouji, Ashi entered well, Small-Nie entered well, Mixed Rough-Nie, Nioikuchi shimarigokoro is bright.

- 宗寛は、奥州白河藩士大野平蔵の子で、幼名を隆之進、後に泰介と称し、固山宗次門下中きっての名工で、嘉永初年頃から下総国古河藩の抱工となり、江戸日本橋箱崎町に居を構え作刀した。明治十六年没。
この刀は、身幅広く、反りやや深く、鋒延びる豪壮な姿で、小板目肌に小杢目肌交じり、よく約み、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景細かく入る美しい地鉄に、互の目に、丁子刃・交じり、足よく入り、小沸よくつき、地刃共に明るく冴える師宗次に迫る出来となる宗寛の最高傑作である。Sokan was the son of Heizo Ohno, a feudal retainer of the Shirakawa domain in Oshu, and his childhood name was Takanoshin, later Taisuke. He was a master craftsman among the disciples of Soji Kozan. From around the first year of the Kaei era, he became a supporter of the Koga domain in Shimousa province, and was employed at Edo Nihonbashi Bridge. He lived in Hakozaki-cho and made swords. He died in 1883.
This sword has wide Mihaba, Slightly deep Sori, With a magnificent figure that extends kissaki, Small-Itame mixed Small-Itamehada, Tsumi well, Jinie entered thick and fine, Chikei entered finely in beautiful Jitetsu, Gunome, Choujiba, Mixed Ashi entered well, Small-Nie entered well, Jiba is bright and clear too, This is Soukan's masterpiece, which comes close to that of his master Munetsugu.
