Ichinohira Yasuyo, commonly known as Tamaki Koichi, was born in Satsuma in 1680 as the eldest son of Namihei Ichinohira Yasusada, and first learned sword forging from his father, and later learned from Yamato no kami Yasuyuki, the main family of Namihira. It is said that.
In 1721, when Yasushiro was 42 years old, he and his fellow countryman Masakiyo Miyahara were summoned by the 8th Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune to forge swords at Edohama Palace, and Yasushiro and Masakiyo were recognized for their skills and became Hitoyo.
