Bicchu Aoe school is a group of swordsmiths who were active mainly in the lower reaches of the Takahashi river in Bicchu. and is said to have started with Yasutsugu at the end of the Heian period and around the Joan period.
and the swordsmiths from the end of the Heian period to around Rekijin in the early Kamakura period are known as Ko-Aoe, After that, it is broadly classified as Aoe. Yoshitsugu is Yasutsugu's grandson and was active in the early Kamakura period around Jouei.
This sword has Itamehada, Mixed Mokume, Utsuritatsu Jitetsu, Suguha-style, Shallow Notare, Mixed Small-Gunome, Small-Ashi and You entered, Small-Nie-tsuki, Baking an old-fashioned Small-Midare-ba, etc. It is well-made, full demonstrating the characteristics of the Ko-Aoe region, and is a masterpiece that has survived nearly 800 years and is still in good condition.
