- 宮入清平刀匠は、名を宮入栄三といい、大正十三年に人間国宝宮入昭平刀匠の弟として長野県に生まれた。昭和十六年から兄昭平について鍛刀を学び、同二十三年に独立、昭和三十四年には第五回作刀技術発表会に出品して努力賞を受賞、以後、優秀賞・毎日新聞社賞など多くの受賞の栄誉に輝き、平成元年二月より刀銘を清宗と改めた。平成十二年五月には長年の功績を認められ、芸術文化功労賞として長野県知事表彰を受賞している。郷土の名工「清麿」に私淑し、その作風を追求、銘の「清」の字も清麿から取っている。平成15年没。この刀は、身幅広く3.3cmあり、反り深く、清麿によく見られる大鋒となる豪壮な姿で、板目肌に、杢目肌・柾目肌交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景よく入る精良で美しい地鉄に、互の目に、丁子刃交じり、湯走り・飛び焼き・二十刃掛かり、足・葉よく入り、美しくしく輝く沸がよくつき、金筋・沸筋頻りに掛かり、覇気溢れ、働き豊かで、匂口明るく冴え渡る。清麿を写して成功しており、正に清麿を彷彿をする出来の最高傑作である。保存刀剣以上に合格することを保証いたします。Miyairi Kiyohira swordsmith, whose name is Miyairi Eizou, was born in Nagano prefecture in the 13th year of the Taisho era as the younger brother of the living national treasure Miyairi Akihira swordsmith. He was appointed to the local master craftsman "Kiyomaro" and pursued his style, and his inscription "Kiyo" was also taken from Kiyomaro. He died in 2003.
