伯耆安綱は、三条宗近などと並び、直刃から湾刀に移行した日本刀最初期の名工で、平安中期に活躍した。名物童子切安綱が名高い。在銘品は極めて稀である。この刀は、「綱」の字は不鮮明ながら「安」の字は明瞭に残る在銘の太刀で、地沸厚くつき、地景よく入り、肌立ち、明るく冴える地鉄に、焼き落としがあり、小乱れに互の目交じり、湯走り掛り、二十刃ごころとなり、大小の沸が深くつき明るく輝き、金筋・砂流し掛り、匂口明るく冴える。田野辺先生のお墨付き重要候補の名品である。Hoki Yasutsuna, along with Sanjo Munechika, was one of the earliest masters of Japanese swords to shift from straight blades to curved swords, and was active in the middle of the Heian period. His specialty Doujigiri Yasutsuna is famous.
In-stock items are extremely rare. This sword has an inscription on it, although the characters for "tsuna" are unclear, but the characters for "yasu" are clearly visible.
