- 越中則重は、越中国婦負郡呉服の住で、江義弘の父と伝える。『古今銘尽』など江戸期の刀剣書は正宗十哲の一人として挙げているが、年紀に延慶・正和等が見られることなどから、新藤五国光門で、正宗の兄弟子にあたるようである。作風は正宗に類似するが、鍛肌に特色があり、大板目が肌立ち地景が太く頻りに入り、渦巻き状を見せるなど、いわゆる「松皮肌」と呼称される同工独特の肌合を呈する。この刀は、身幅広く、反りやや浅く、腰反り付き、中鋒となる鎌倉末期から南北朝にかけての体配で、地景よく入り、肌立ち映り立つ松皮風の黒みがかった地鉄に、浅くのたれて、小乱れ・小互の目など交え、湯走り・飛び焼き掛り、小足・葉頻りに入り、華やかに乱れ、小沸深く付き、金筋幾重にも頻りに掛るなど刃中よく働き、匂深く、匂口明るく冴える。手持ちも重く現代刀並みに健全で、覇気溢れ、格調高い名刀である。Ecchu Norishige lives in Ecchunokuni Nei-gun Gofuku and tells Gouno Yoshihiro's father. This sword has a wide Mihaba, a slightly shallow Sori, Koshizori-tsuki, Chikei fits well in the style from the end of Kamakura to Nanbokuchou, which becomes Chu-Kissaki.
