Kagemitsu is the third direct descendant of Osafune following Mitsutada and Nagamitsu, and Kanemitsu's father. He is a master craftsman who has made Osafune's name immovable after being appointed to the rank of Sahei-jou.There is no Hamon as great as his father Nagamitsu, Suguha-style and Small-Chouji, Small-Gunome is often mixed.
He is famous for having founded Kataochi-Gunome. Active from the end of the Kamakura period to the period of the Nanbokucho era.
This sword is a fine-quality, small-curved tanto thought to have been made in the late Kamakura period.
