後藤家は、足利義政に使えた初代祐乗から十七代典乗まで、将軍家の御用を務め役４００年もの長き繁栄した。初代祐乗は美濃彫様式を集大成して精巧で格式高い後藤彫（家彫）を確立した。
家彫の赤銅魚子地に高彫色絵あるいは、金紋式の工法で三所物（小柄、笄、目貫）を造る。徳乗は、後藤宗家の五代目。父四代光乗とともに豊臣秀吉から判金改め・分銅役を引き受け豊臣家財務管理の一部を担当、天正大判の製作にも従事していた。
Syakudouji Katachibori Iroe
The Goto family prospered for 400 years, serving the shogunate family from the first Yujo who served Ashikaga Yoshimasa to the 17th Norijo. The first Yujo established Goto-bori (Iebori), which was elaborate and highly prestigious, by compiling the Mino-bori style.
Tokujo is the fifth head of the Goto family. Together with his father, Mitsujo IV, he was in charge of part of the financial management of the Toyotomi family by taking on the role of weight change and weight from Hideyoshi TOYOTOMI, and was also engaged in the production of Tensho Oban.
The sanshomono (kozuka, kogai, and menuki) are made using the Takabori-iroe or Kinmon-shiki method on shakudonanakoji, which is Iebori.
