長州は、東の水戸と並んで金工の数が多く鍔も量産された。

長州鍔工の代表には中井善助友垣、河治権之友周、岡田宣政などがいる。

武州伊藤派との技術や人事の交流が見られ、作風は、鉄地、丸形、両櫃孔、肉彫透、または鋤出彫。図柄は、草花と山水風景が好んで彫られ人物図は少ない。Tatemarugata Sukidashibori Zougan Sukinokoshimimi

Choshu, along with Mito in the east, has a large number of metalwork and mass-produced tsuba.

The representatives of Choshu tsuba craftsmen include Zensuke Nakai Tomogaki, Gonno Tomochika Kawaji, and Nobumasa Okada.

The exchange of techniques and personnel with the Ito school of Bushu can be seen, and the style is iron ground, round shape, both pits, meat carving, or sukidashi carving. As for the designs, I prefer to carve flowers and landscapes, and there are few figures of people.
