太刀師・太刀金具師は、古くは仏具に関連した金属彫刻の職人が転化し、平安朝期から安土桃山時代にかけて太刀の金具や鐔を制作した金工。

作風は打出式か鋤下鋤出の工法によって山銅や赤銅あるいは鉄地を使って草花類や図案式の野々を精巧濃密に彫刻している。Mokkougata Syakudoumigakiji Kebori Dotemimi

Tachi-shi and Tachi-Kanagu-shi are metalworkers who made metal fittings and tsuba for swords from the Heian period to the Aduchimomoyama period, after turning from metal carving craftsmen related to Buddhist altar fittings.

The style is uchidashiki or SukisageSukidashi, using Yamagane, Syakudou, or iron ground to elaborately and densely carve flowers and design-style wilds.
