Shingen tsuba is an iron tsuba that is woven with brass and sometimes copper wire in a variety of ways.
There is a theory that the name comes from the similarity of the basket weave patterns of bags made of bamboo, such as Shingenbukuro and Kagoshingen. It is also called a Mukade-tsuba(centipede tsuba) because of the shape of the pattern.
