- 長船清光銘の始まりは鎌倉末期正和頃といい、室町末期まで代の継承が見られる。末備前中で、清光は直刃を得意として多くの作品を残しているが、中でも五郎左衛門尉清光と孫右衛門尉清光は上工として知られる。この刀は、二尺三寸九分の長さに、身幅広く、刃肉つき、重量も900g近く、中鋒延びる豪壮な姿で、板目肌つみ、杢目交じり、地沸微塵に厚くつき、乱れ映り鮮やかに立ち、地景よく入り、明るく冴える美しい地鉄に、直刃調に、互の目・小互の目交じり、小足・葉入り、金筋砂流し細かく掛るなど刃中の働き盛んで、匂口明るく冴える頗る健全な傑作である。Osafune Kiyomitsu's signature is said to have started in the late Kamakura period, around the time of Masakazu, and can be seen to be passed down through generations until the late Muromachi period.Among Sue Bizen, Kiyomitsu is good at Suguha and has left many works.Among them, Gorozaemonjyo Kiyomitsu and his Magouemonjyou Kiyomitsu are known as excellent swordsmith.
