与四郎式象嵌鐔とは、鉄地に真鍮の地金を多用して、桜花、蝶、紋尽などを透かしたり、唐草模様の平象嵌を施したもので、この作域の物を与四郎と称している。与四郎とは、この作風の鐔の銘に見られる桃山時代に活躍した鐔工の名前。Kikkagata Tetsumigakiji Sinchu-Hirazougan Kebori Kagesukashi Marumimi Ryohitsuana
Yoshirou-style inlaid tsuba feature iron bases heavily inlaid with brass, employing openwork designs of cherry blossoms, butterflies, and mon patterns, or flat inlay of arabesque motifs. Pieces executed in this style are attributed to Yoshirou. Yoshirou is the name of a tsuba craftsman active during the Momoyama period, whose signature appears on tsuba of this style.
