- 備前長船の嫡流は、鎌倉時代中期の光忠に始まり、長光・景光、そして兼光へと継承されている。兼光の作刀時期は、鎌倉末期の元亨から、南北朝期の貞治に及ぶ45年の長きに亘っている。作風は南北朝の康永頃までは、尋常な体配に互の目や直刃に互の目を交えた刃を焼き、父景光に似た作風となるが、貞和頃より姿が大柄になり、のたれ主調の沸の強い出来の所謂相伝備前となる。この刀は、3.2cmと身幅広く、重ね薄く、先幅広く、大鋒となる南北朝の豪壮な体配で、杢目肌に、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景よく入り、乱れ映り立つ美しい地鉄に、景光風の片落ち互の目を焼く重要候補の名品である。The main line of Bizen Osafune began with Mitsutada in the middle of the Kamakura period, and was succeeded by Nagamitsu, Kagemitsu, and Kanemitsu. Kanemitsu's sword-making spans a long period of 45 years, from Gentoru in the late Kamakura period to Sadaharu in the Nanbokucho period.
Until around the Yasunaga era of Nanbokucho, his style was similar to that of his father Kagemitsu, with Gunome and Suguha mixed with Gunome blades in an ordinary form, but from around Sadakazu his figure became larger and the main tone was Notare. It becomes the so-called Soden-Bizen of strong results.
This sword has 3.2cm wide Mihaba, Thin Kasane, Wide Mihaba and Wide Sakihaba,With Nanbokucho's majestic appearance, Mokume-hada, Jinie entered thickly, Chikei entered well, Midare-Utsuritatsu beautiful Jigane, It is a masterpiece of Kataochi-gunome-yaku Juyo candidate of Kagemitsu style.
