- 来国俊は、仁治元年(1240年)生まれ、来国行の子で、年紀作は鎌倉中期弘安から鎌倉後期の元亨に渡っており、九十余歳で没したと伝える。その前期二字国俊銘は豪壮な姿態に華麗な丁子乱れを焼き、後期来国俊銘は細身の体配に、上品な直刃調の刃文を焼くものが多い。来派は、国行を始祖とする一派で、鎌倉後期頃には粟田口派に交代するように、山城を代表する刀工群となった。また、来一門は、国行を始めとして、来国俊、来国光、来国次と一門の直系がいずれも最上作となっている。
この刀は、猪首風に鋒詰まった体配の元々は70cm程の太刀で、小板目肌がよく錬れ、地沸厚くつき、地景細かく頻りに入り、乱れ映りが鮮やかに立つ精良で美しい地鉄に、小足・葉よく入り、小沸深くよくつき、金筋長く掛るなど刃中よく働き、匂口明るく冴える傑作である。Raikokutoshi was born in the first year of Ninji (1240) and was the son of Raikokuyuki.His works are said to have passed from Koan in the mid-Kamakura period to Mototoru in the late Kamakura period, and that he died at the age of over 90.
The early Niji-Kunitoshi inscription is a magnificent figure with a gorgeous Chouji-Midare.
Many of the late Rai Kunitoshi signatures have a slender body and an elegant Suguha style blade pattern.
The Raiha was a school whose founder was Kuniyuki, and in the late Kamakura period it became the representative group of swordsmiths in Yamashiro, replacing it with the Awataguchi school. In addition, all of the direct descendants of the Rai clan, including Kuniyuki, Rai Kunishun, Rai Kunimitsu, and Rai Kunitsugu, are the best works.
