正阿弥派は、埋忠派と共に室町時代から江戸後期に至るまで繁栄した。室町・桃山時代の物を古正阿弥と称す。これに対して桃山・江戸期に下がるものを京正阿弥と称す事もある。京都を中心として、伊予、阿波、会津、秋田、庄内、江戸時代には全国に広く分布している。鍔は丸形の鍛えの良い鉄に、図案風な透や布目象嵌を施している。Marugata Tetsuji Nikuborijisukashi Kinnunomezougan Marumimi
The Syouami school prospered together with the Uchuchu school from the Muromachi period to the late Edo period. Items from the Muromachi and Momoyama periods are called Kosyoami. On the other hand, the one that dates back to the Momoyama and Edo periods is sometimes called Kyosyoami. Centering on Kyoto, it spread widely throughout the country in Iyo, Awa, Aizu, Akita, Syonai, and the Edo period. The tsuba is made of round, well-forged iron with design-like openwork and textured inlays.
