長州は、東の水戸と並んで金工の数が多く鍔も量産された。岡本家は、長州の有力集団で友治を初代とし友義-万高-万一-知賢-豊章-豊信-友義と継承している。
豊章は岡本家の６代目。長州藩のお抱え工。文政5年に家督を継ぎ安政まで生存を確認できる。
鉄地丸形の鐔に鋤出と高肉彫の手法。幕末の長州金工界に活躍した巧手である。Kawarigata Tetsuji Nikubori-Jisukashi Nikuborimimi
Choshu, along with Mito in the east, had a large number of metalwork and mass-produced tsuba.
The Okamoto family is a powerful group in Choshu, with Tomoharu as the founder and succeeded by Tomoyoshi, Mantaka, Banichi, Tomotaka, Toyoaki, Toyonobu and Tomoyoshi.
Toyoaki is the sixth generation of the Okamoto family. He was a craftsman employed by the Choshu domain.
Toyoaki took over as head of the family in 1822 and is known to have lived until the Ansei era.

He was a skilled craftsman active in the Choshu metalworking world at the end of the Edo period.
