Otafuku Mokkougata Tetsutsuchimeji Kagesukashi Koduka-Hitsuana Kakumimikoniku
Yamakichi Tsuba are called Yamakichi because they are engraved with the name Yamakichibei.
The first Yamakichibei was employed by the Oda clan and is said to have been an armorer by trade, making him one of Owari's leading Tsuba makers alongside Houan. Those said to be the works of the first generation are hand-finished with Nademokkougata or Choengata, and have a strong black luster. The nodular steel frame seen in Owari Tsuba and this blackness and luster are the characteristics of Yamakichi Tsuba.
