伊藤派は江戸幕府の鍔専門工として活躍した。
元禄時代の正長を初代として二代正垣ー三代正方ー四代正吉ー五代正近ー六代正種ー七代正也ー八代正乗ー九代正広ー十代正隆と継承している。
正方(政方)は、通称をはじめ源二郎といい、家督を相続してから甚右衛門と改めた。細透彫を得意とし、正恒の子であるとも言われ安永三年(1774)没した。
作風は、鉄地丸形で肉彫地透の伊藤式のものが得意でこれに糸透、小透、金の布目金象嵌などを施し、板鐔に鋤出工法で色絵の作などもある。図柄は笹竹、秋虫、帆船などがあるが草木類が多い。The Ito school was active as a tsuba specialist for the Edo Shogunate.

Masakata正方 (政方Masakata) was commonly known as Genjiro, and changed his name to Jinemon after inheriting the family estate. He was good at hoshinbori and was said to be the son of Masatsune and died in 1774.
