Swordsmith Miyairi Hohiro was born in 1956 in Sakakimachi, Nagano Prefecture, as the eldest son of Miyairi Seihei and nephew of Ningen Kokuho Miyairi Akihira.
After graduating from the Faculty of Literature at Kokugakuin University in 1978, he studied under NingenKokuho Sumtani Masamine, and from 1983 he won the Special Award eight times and the Excellence Award four times at the New Famous Swords Exhibition. In 1995, at the age of 39, he became the youngest person to be certified as a Mukansa. In 2005, he produced a straight sword for the Ise Grand Shrine's Shikinen Sengu Ceremony, a sacred treasure. In 2011, he was designated as a holder of the Nagano Prefecture Mukei-Bunkazai.
This sword has standard Mihaba, Tanto from the late Kamakura period that became Uchizori, Jinie entered finely and Chikei entered with bright and clear Jigane. Suguha, Small-Ashi and You entered well, Small-Nie-tsuki, Kinsuji-kakari, Nioikuchi is bright and clear, an excellent sword.
