【説明】【Drscription】: 備前長船の嫡流は、鎌倉時代中期の光忠に始まり、長光・景光、そして兼光へと継承されている。兼光の作刀時期は、鎌倉末期の元亨から、南北朝期の貞治に及ぶ45年の長きに亘っている。作風は南北朝の康永頃までは、尋常な体配に互の目や直刃に互の目を交えた刃を焼き、父景光に似た作風となるが、貞和頃より姿が大柄になり、のたれ主調の沸の強い出来の所謂相伝備前となる。この刀は、身幅尋常、重ね薄く、反り僅かにつく品の良い姿で、映りが鮮やかに立つ肌に、地沸微塵につく美しい地鉄に、片落ち互の目を焼く名品である。The main line of Bizen Osafune began with Mitsutada in the middle of the Kamakura period, and was succeeded by Nagamitsu, Kagemitsu, and Kanemitsu. Kanemitsu's sword-making spans a long period of 45 years, from Gentoru in the late Kamakura period to Sadaharu in the Nanbokucho period.
Until around the Kouei era of Nanbokucho, his style was similar to that of his father Kagemitsu, with Gunome and Suguha mixed with Gunome blades in an ordinary form, but from around Sadakazu his figure became larger and the main tone was Notare.
