- 盛俊は、名を岩本清右衛門といい、長雲斎綱俊の高弟で、後に固山宗次にも師事し、毛利家の支藩である周防国岩国藩吉川家のお抱え鍛冶となる。師綱俊はその子是俊を12才より岩国の盛俊の元で修業させたといい、運寿是一など名工揃いの綱俊一門の中で、高い評価と信頼をおいていたことが分かる。慶応3年66才没。この刀は、身幅広く、鋒延びる姿に、杢目肌際立ち地景よく入る地鉄に、足葉頻りに入る華やかな丁子乱れを焼き、金筋・沸筋・砂流し頻りにかかる名品である。Moritoshi's name was Kiyoemon Iwamoto, and he was a senior disciple of Chounsai Tsunatoshi. He later studied under Munetsugu Koyama, and became a blacksmith for the Yoshikawa family of the Iwakuni domain in Suo Province, a branch domain of the Mori family.
It is said that his master Tsunatoshi had his son Koretoshi train under Moritoshi in Iwakuni from the age of 12, and it is clear that he was highly regarded and trusted among the Tsunatoshi family, which included master craftsmen such as Unju Korekazu. . Died in 3rd year of Keio era at the age of 66.
