Syakudounanakoji Takabori
The design, Oshikake, is the name of horse tack. It is a braided cord that is worn around the horse's head, chest, and rump.
The Goto family prospered for 400 years, serving the shogunate family from the first Yujo who served Ashikaga Yoshimasa to the 17th Norijo. The first Yujo established the elaborate and prestigious Goto carving (IEbori) by compiling the Mino carving style.
The works of the first three generations of the Goto family, the first Yujou, the second Sojou, and the third Johshin, are known as Ko-Goto(Old Goto).
