The 27th-generation Kanemoto, born Tatsuichiro Kaneko in 1924 (Taisho 13), was a direct descendant of the Kaneko Magoroku lineage—a line that has continued unbroken since the time of Magoroku Kanemoto, who was active during the Mid-Muromachi period. In 1944, he succeeded to the name "Kanemoto 27th." He received numerous awards and, in 1997, became chairman of the Gifu Juyo Mukei-Bunkazai(Swordsmiths' Association). He passed away in 2008.
This sword is a wide Mihaba and Uchizori Tanto, Jinie entered thick, Chikei entered finely with clear beautiful Jigane, Tsureta-Gunome, Kinsuji and Niesuji entered frequently, Jiba is bright and clear, This is a masterpiece in which the family-tradition Sanbonsugi (three cedars) pattern has been brilliant.
