- 長船康光は、兄と伝わる盛光と共に応永備前を代表する長義の孫とも伝える名工である。応永二年から応永三十三年までの年紀作がある。この刀は、乱れ映りが立ち、地沸微塵に厚くつく潤いのある応永肌と呼称される美しい地鉄に、腰開き互の目に、丁子刃を交え華やかに乱れ、小沸つき、足・葉よく入り、匂口明るい傑作である。Yasumitsu Osafune is a master swordsmith said to be the grandson of Nagayoshi, a representative figure of the Ouei Bizen school, and is associated with Morimitsu, who is believed to be his older brother.
He produced works dated from the second year of the Ouei era to the 33rd year of the Ouei era.
