- 来国光は、来国俊の子で、来派の中でも最も作域が広く、年紀作は、鎌倉末期の正和二年（1313年）から、元徳・貞和を経て南北朝中期の観応二年（1351年）に及び、44振が国宝・重文・重美に指定されている山城伝の代表工である。この刀は、身幅広く3.3cmあり、反り深く、腰反りつく堂々とした姿で、杢目交じりの板目肌がつみ、地沸微塵に厚くつき、地景頻りに入り、冴えた美しい地鉄に、焼きの深い直刃に、ほつれ・食い違い・湯走り・二十刃など掛り、小足・葉が頻りに入り、小沸深くよくつき、金筋掛るなど、刃中良く働き、頗る健全で、匂深く、匂口明るく冴える傑作である。Rai Kunimitsu is the son of Rai Kunitoshi, and has the widest range of works among the Rai school.
