- 月山は、平安後期舞草派の鍛冶で、初代の鬼王丸は、平泉藤原秀衡のお抱工と伝う。その後出羽の国月山に移り、実用性の高さと綾杉肌の美しさの両面から人気を博し、室町時代にかけて繁栄した。この刀は、杢目肌が流れて美しい綾杉肌となる肌立った地鉄に、綾杉に添って湯走りと乱れ映りが立ち、小互の目が二十刃風となり、小足入り、金筋・砂流し掛り、匂口明るい綾杉の名品である。Gassan was a blacksmith of the Maikusa school in the late Heian period, and the first Kioumaru is said to have been a craftsman employed by Hiraizumi Fujiwarano Hidehira. It was later moved to Gassan in Dewa Province, where it became popular for both its high practicality and the beauty of its Ayasugihada, and flourished throughout the Muromachi period.
This sword has Mokumehada flows to create a beautiful Ayasugihada with Hadatatta Jigane. Along with the Ayasugi, Yubashiri and Midare-Utsuritachi, Small-Gunome became Nijuba-style, Small-Ashi entered, Kinsuji and Sunagashi-kakari, Nioikuchi is bright. This is a masterpiece from Ayasugi.
