Sairen is the son of Ryosai, who is said to be the founder of Chikuzen blacksmithing, Jitsua's father, and Osa's grandfather. A master blacksmith from the late Kamakura era Eihito, whose name is Kuniyoshi, and Sairen is his master's name. There are inscriptions such as ``Chikuzen Province Hakata Judangisho Sairenboshi Kuniyoshi,'' and the Chinzei Dangisho was established in Hakata by the Kamakura Shogunate in the 9th year of Koan after the Bunei-Koan War (so-called Genko). It belongs to the , and is forged in preparation for the Mongol invasion.
This sword was originally a sword about 80cm long.Deep Sori, Koshizori-tsuki, Small-Kissaki graceful figure, Utsuritatsu with dark Mokumehada, Chikei entered well, Suguha-style,Mixed Small-Gunome, Nijuba-kakari, Small-Ashi entered well, Small-Nie-tsuki, Nioiguchi-shimarigokoro a bright and excellent sword.
