- 景光は、光忠・長光に続く長船の直系三代目で、兼光の父にあたる。左兵衛尉に任じ、長船の名を不動のものにした名工である。父長光ほどの大出来の刃文はなく、直刃調に小丁子・小互の目交じるものが多く、その足は逆がかるのが特色で、肩落互の目を創始したことで名高い。鎌倉末期から南北朝時代にかけ活躍している。この刀は、元は二尺五寸三分程であった太刀で、身幅やや細く、腰そりつき、小鋒となる鎌倉末期の品の良い姿を呈し、地景細かく入る小板目肌に、乱れ映りが鮮やかに立つ極めて精美な地鉄に、細直刃調に、細かく彼の得意とする片落ち互の目や、小丁子を交え、小足頻りに入り、匂出来、小沸つき、匂口締まりごころに明るい典型作で、地刃健全で、閑雅の趣を醸す二字在銘の名刀である。Kagemitsu is the third direct descendant of Osafune following Mitsutada and Nagamitsu, and Kanemitsu's father. He is a master craftsman who has made Osafune's name immovable after being appointed to the rank of Sahei-jou.There is no Hamon as great as his father Nagamitsu, Suguha-style and Small-Chouji, Small-Gunome is often mixed.
He is famous for having founded Kataochi-Gunome. Active from the end of the Kamakura period to the period of the Nanbokucho period.
