Kanetaka was a swordsmith in Seki around the Eiroku era, and later moved to Gifu where he received the title of Bungo no Kami.
In the Edo period, around the time of the Kanei era, there was a man named Kanetaka who is thought to be his son and held the titles of BungonoKami, SatsumanoKami, IganoKami, and HarimanoKami, and the family prospered greatly.
